VIC - July Cruise - *Updated* Hot Chocolate and Picnic in Daylesford
*Updated* Hot Chocolate and Picnic in Daylesford
Join us for a short tour of the Daylesford area including back roads from Gisborne through Macedon to try out a very well respected Hot Chocolate shop followed by a picnic by Daylesford Lake.
Start
Location | John Aitken Reserve. Pay attention to the signs on the freeway since last two times I have driven past, Melbourne Rd has been closed so I have had to take the next exit. The Tesla navigation seems to know when the road closures are active so just let Elon take the wheel. |
Address |
15 Aitken St, Gisborne VIC 3437 |
Time | 9am |
Trip
After mustering at the John Aitken Reserve, we will take a short tour through some scenic backroads through Mt Macedon, Woodend and a short walk to Trentham Falls to get to Daylesford for morning tea at The Daylesford Hot Chocolate Company at 22 Raglan St. Since there are so many of us, we will grab our hot chocolates to take away and head down to the lake for a relaxed picnic so bring a hamper and a picnic blanket!
If the day is particularly wet, I have an alternative undercover picnic area at the old train station.
After enjoying our meal we will head up to the 4MW Community Windfarm on Leonard's Hill and then back towards Melbourne via more back roads.
Charging
The trip is fairly short so most vehicles should not require charging, however, if there is interest, we can check out the Evie Networks operated charger in Woodend. This will be an eye-opener to anyone new to Tesla wondering why we talk about the Supercharger network as such an amazing thing. Since we will be returning via the M8, we can also charge at Bacchus Marsh and Taylors lakes on the way home as I mentioned in my email last week.
Further Discussion
As always, we will discuss this further on the TOCA Discord server. This is a platform for text, voice and video communication. To join the conversation and jump straight into the victoria-cruises channel, use this link: https://discord.gg/DKFDCur6DG
