VIC - Christmas Party Lunch

The end of 2022 and Christmas are once again charging right for us, and it is our duty to celebrate as best we can. While we were originally planning for a larger outdoor event, in light of the recent weather, and predictions for a soaking summer, we have decided to move it indoors. On the plus side, this will involve some really delicious food in a great atmosphere, but on the negative side, numbers are strictly limited so get in quickly!

Locale is the restaurant at the De Bortoli winery in Dixons Creek, just off the Melba Highway. Not only is the restaurant excellent, they have been making fabulous wines for decades. They have also hosted a number of destination chargers for over 5 years and have two huge solar arrays.

Lunch will be a "shared feast" at $120 per head with drinks being charged separately per table with an itemised bill. It might be useful to bring some cash to make it easier to settle this up at the end of the night. Since space is strictly limited, please limit to club members and their "+1".

We are organising this as tickets that you will have to pay for through Member Jungle, so please reach out to Richard Laxton if you have any problems with this (it is the first time that I have run an event this way after all). There should be a text field as part of each ticket to supply any dietary requirements since the restaurant can cater for gluten free, fructose free, vegetarian, vegan and coeliac diets. 

Registrations will be closing on 24th November since we have to provide final numbers 7 days before the event.

Getting there

Just ask your car :-) Seriously though, the winery is less than 10 minutes north of Yarra Glen. Note that the turn into Pinnacle Lane is immediately after a bit of a blind corner so pay attention to the navigation and signage. There are many options to turn this into an extended scenic drive if you feel like it.

Charging

There are two destination chargers on site, although they are getting pretty old and have been a bit flaky at times recently.  I will test them this weekend and update this event listing.

The nearest DC chargers when coming from the south are at Diamond Creek BP and Vermont.

If you are coming from the north, there is a Supercharger at Yea, about 50km north of Dixons Creek.
