This event was run the same time last year and received brilliant reviews from all of those who attended.  How can an event like this fail - it has everything - a tour of a family owned and operated gin distillery (with some moonshine to boot) who produce custom made gin with amazing flavours, incredible dining across a variety of venues, and taste some of the best wine in Australia.

In addition, throw in a garden with one of only three churches made from vines / bushes in the world with views of the Main Range while munching on an incredible lunch, and a short hike to a waterfall you can walk under (and swim under) and you have a mountain lovers paradise event.  Stay overnight and enjoy two days of absolute spoiling and pleasure or take a day trip and return home early.  Up to you!

Saturday 17 February 2024

The Day and Overnight Option will be simply amazing with Gin Tasting at the Ladbroken Distillery (it is very easy to break the lad on this stuff!!).  Robbie and the crew knows how to produce gin.  I managed to sneak in some taste testing recently in Canberra, and their gin flavours are strong and delicious.  From their Berrylicious Gin to their Autumn Edition Spiced Apple and Fig Infused Gin, from their Blood Orange Gin to their Gingerbread Gin, the variety is endless.  You don’t have to be a Gin drinker to enjoy the flavours on offer.  A unique experience at the very place they make the stuff.  A tour of the distillery with sampling and the opportunity to buy some of their cleansing liquid pleasure is all on the menu.

Lunch will be served at the Distillery (incl. in ticket price).

We head back into town early afternoon and time permitting, head up to Police Paddock lookout to take in an overview of the area.

For those Day TOCAs, it is time for you to depart after taking in the views of the lookout and head back to Canberra.

Overnight TOCAs

Ladbroken’s Distillery is just the beginning.  We head back into town and will be welcomed by Dave and Pam at our accommodation, the Tumbarumba Motel.  Once settled in, a leisurely stroll into town for coffee and a treat.

Dinner will be at the NSW Cellar Door winner of the year, Courabyra Wines.  The menu and wines are excellent in a beautiful mountain setting.  Relax over a dinner and wine with TOCA colleagues.

Sunday 18 February 2024

With Saturday festivities over, we take a slightly more sedate sight-seeing tour of the area.  After breakfast at the bakery in town, we head off 15 km south to Paddy’s River Falls.  Bring your walking shoes, swimmers and a towel.

After our short drive and walk (and swim for those keen), we head back toward town where we do a short stop at Obsession Winery.  Some more wine tasting is in order!!

Don’t fill up on wine too much as our lunch stop is next door at the beautiful Braymont Gardens.  This picturesque historical property has beautiful gardens just waiting to be explored.  Enjoy a quiet lunch amongst nature’s best.

We end our stay in Tumbarumba and head back to Canberra.  We may do a short stop at Tumut River Brewing company for a quick beer and snacks (depending on whether our stomachs can cope with more) before tackling our final leg back to Canberra.

Registration is essential as spaces are limited.  This will be a fantastic trip and an opportunity to take our Teslas into a smallish country town setting.
