Come join your fellow TOCA members for a TOCA first: a bi-coastal cruise with a sea ferry Bay crossing!

UPDATED January 27.

1. We start at the Tesla Superchargers at the Geelong Gate Homemaker Centre in Corio, on the outskirts of Geelong, about 50” from the Melbourne CBD. (470-510 Princes Hwy, Corio VIC 3214; What3Words ///excusing.contingent.sulk). No breakfast meeting, so come fuelled for the morning.

2. From there we take roads less travelled through the industrial Port of Geelong, where we may see in storage the Southern Hemisphere’s largest wind turbine blades, set to become part of a huge wind farm installation between Geelong and Ballarat (perhaps the site of a future cruise when completed).

We then pass the Spirit of Tasmania berth, taking in the fast developing shorefront area of East Geelong, where a major convention centre is being constructed, before embarking on a leisurely tour of scenic Eastern Park.

3. We leave the Geelong area via Portarlington Road heading through the northern aspects of the Bellarine Peninsula before turning eastwards through Drysdale and Clifton Springs and our first stop for morning tea on the Portarlington foreshore.

4. Our cruise continues along The Esplanade with its great scenic views back to Melbourne, and hug the shoreline via Indented Head and St. Leonards.

5. We head south west, bypassing Swan Bay, heading to the Bellarine Highway which takes us into Queenscliff before heading to the Sea Ferry terminal for the 12pm crossing, arriving to board at 1120am. Here, we’ll drive on board (dogs permitted but if out of the car, must stay outside) for the 45 minute Bay crossing to Sorrento.

Please use the following link to go to the booking site, and please note there is the initial fee for your car and driver, and then a second fee for passengers, divided into Adult, Concession (eg Senior), under 3 child (free), Child over 3, as well as a Family fare for up to one other Adult (apart from the driver) and three children.

Make sure you choose the 12pm, February 8 crossing

6. Once we disembark we’ll gather for a quick briefing near the Sorrento township, in the David MacFarlan Reserve on Hotham Road. Then it's a 25 minute drive for lunch at the St. Andrew's Brewery in Fingal.

This entry in Member Jungle will be updated in the week of the cruise, and registrants will receive a detailed turn by turn set of directions. Members who do not wish to do the crossing may choose to come on the Corio to Queenscliff legs. Others on the Mornington Pensinsula may wish to join the cruise at the St. Andrews Brewery for lunch, with expected arrival between 130-2pm.

Your TOCA Vic committee looks forward to seeing many new and familiar members on this spectacularly scenic and unique cruise.
