WHO CAN COME?

The owner of the vehicle, who is the main driver, could be a TOCA member.  Since TOCA is the principal organising entity, we need to record details of vehicles and drivers for public liability coverage, especially when it comes to travelling to and from the circuit.  Additional drivers (if any) do not need to be TOCA members.

Otherwise, this event is for everyone - from the inexperienced to the experienced, the nervous and the confident.  The TOCA Track Experience Day could make you a better driver, so don't be deterred if you are inexperienced.  The idea is to safely have fun, drive comfortably within your limitations and to get to know more about your car's capabilities.

This is an adults-only event.  Those under 18 years old are not permitted to drive due to the risks involved.  However, adults and kids can come along as spectators off the track area free of charge.  Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.  Please don't ask for any exemptions - they will not be given.

HOW IT ALL WORKS

TOCA has arranged for the entire track for the day.

Vinfast Engineering Australia Pty Ltd are owners of the Lang Lang track and the VINFAST staff will direct and control the cars during the day's activities.

There is NO racing or overtaking of vehicles.  Individual vehicles will be directed on the track at intervals of time and distance to minimise risks.

Spots are limited, so please purchase your tickets using the button on the right-hand side menu.  The ticket price is all-inclusive for the driving, track component of the day, coffee and tea and lunch are provided for the drivers and their guests.  The food & coffee van will be on site during the day.

Once we have 30 main ticket sales, TOCA will update attendees on this events page and alert individuals with any final details.

INSURANCE

As your car will be driven on private property at higher speeds, it is not covered under any standard car insurance policy.  Members (car owners) are responsible for arranging their own car insurance (no insurance company I am aware of will cover this kind of activity).  VINFAST (the company which owns the track) and TOCA hold public liability insurance only.  Public liability insurance does not cover damage to your car, it only covers property and personal injury unrelated to the actual driving event.  TOCA cannot provide any further advice on the issue of insurance - this is the owner's responsibility to accept liability for any damage that may be sustained to their vehicle.

MINIMUM NUMBERS

Numbers are key, so we need at least 30 cars paid and committed to the event.  If we don't get these numbers, the event will be cancelled, and you will be refunded.  Please purchase your tickets early so that we can confirm the booking.  Don't leave it until the last minute.

LUNCH

Your TICKET cost covers the track day and coffee, tea and lunch for the driver and their guests.

SAFETY

Safety is paramount.  Please ensure your car is in good condition and the tyres have reasonable levels of tread.  All attendees must wear non-polyester clothing (clothing that can easily be removed in case of fire), long-sleeve shirts, long pants, and flat or thin-soled shoes.  No runners with thick treads are permitted.  Helmets are not required to participate in this event.  The above safety clothing and footwear are compulsory.

Those not complying with the above will not be permitted to drive on the track and there are no refunds.

Please also strip out all unnecessary items from your car frunk, interior and boot.  Loose items can become deadly missiles at speed, so it is important to empty your "loose change tray" etc. and ensure the car is back to basics.  This will reduce the amount of effort spent on the track clearing out excess garbage that has accumulated in your vehicle.

Consider using Dot 4 or higher brake fluid in your car.  While not essential, at the last event, Dot 3 was found to boil after lunch time and this reduces your track time due to extended cooling-off periods.

SUNSAFE

Please ensure you bring a hat and a tonne of sunscreen.  While we will have some shade, it can get hot out on the track, and it is important to "Slip, Slop, Slap"!!  Bring a water bottle or three.

WATER

You will need plenty of water.  I would suggest a small esky just for some bottles of water with ice and a large water container for additional supply.  There is no water on site.  If you are bringing spectators, make sure you have enough water for all of them.
