ACT TOCA's Big Day Out Barby - Short Drive - Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve

Open to: TOCA Members and their family and non-Member Tesla owners and their family.

Pet Friendly: No. But plenty of wildlife to look at.

Cost: BYO Barbeque picnic lunch. BBQs are available at Tidbinbilla. TOCA Member who brings a non-member Tesla owning friend will receive a free sausage sizzle and breadroll with salad along with their friend (and family).

Description

Bring the kids for a day with nature.  View the koalas, kangaroos, platypi and other Australian flora and fauna.  We meet up at the Gordon Shops IGA where we travel along Point Hut to Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve.

The theme for this trip is a barbecue.  Tidbinbilla have gas barbecue spaces with open areas.  Bring a ball, a frisbee, a blanket and your picnic basket full of goodies.  Cook a steak on the barbie, or go for the cold lunch.  Everything is BYO. Note bringing a non-member Tesla owner friend gets you a free sausage sizzle with bun etc.

Time: 1045 AM meet up for 11 AM departure.

*Note.  While the first meet timing is our departure from Gordon IGA, all other timings are flexible.

1100 hrs: Depart Gordon IGA in convoy

1145 hrs: Barbecue Lunch at Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve

1300 hrs: Short bush walk after lunch

1430 hrs: Depart Tidbinbilla

1445 hrs: Arrive Canberra

Entry Cost

Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve may charge an entry fee per vehicle but this has not been the case for a few years and entry has been free. 

Other

There are no rubbish bins at Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve due to wildlife so please BYO rubbish bag. You will need to take all your rubbish out of the park. Bring a ball, bat and frizbee. Don't forget your fun hat and sunscreen.
