ACT TOCA - INFO ONLY - Cowra Breakout and Hot Air Balloon Festival

Event Description

TOCA ACT will be running a Cowra Breakout weekend that will include the option of a hot air balloon ride.  We have not finalised an itinerary yet but we propose to visit places such as the site of the WW2 Japanese Prisoner of War Camp where prisoners broke out in the infamous "Cowra Breakout".  An amazing walk back through time on the site of the original POW camp - read the interpretive boards and honour the Australian guards who lost their lives.  Steeped in Australian history, the Cowra Breakout is a must see,

We will venture to the town of Canowindra just north of Cowra and enjoy an early morning hot air balloon ride and a breakfast.  Hold onto your hat, bring plenty of warm clothes and take pictures from a calm and picturesque viewpoint of a long way above the region.

We will be visiting wineries, walking through the Japanese Gardens, and marvelling at the Wyangala Dam.  Plenty of down time, lunches and some great scenery.  We will be staying in Cowra subject to accommodation availability.
