ACT TOCA overnight trip to Tumbarumba, NSW for a Gin, Wine and Fine Dining Experience

A delayed news article on the ACT TOCA's trip earlier this year to Tumbarumba, NSW for their Gin, Wine and Fine Dining experience.

ACT TOCA ran a similar event in February 2023 and we received terrific feedback from attendees who thought the weekend was a barrel of fun.  Well, 2024 did not disappoint with a few re-attendees and some new TOCA Members taking the plunge and enjoying the event in Tumbarumba, NSW.

Up by a few cars from last year, the group set out from Canberra and met up with others at the Ladbroken Gin Distillery in Tumbarumba, NSW.  We were met again by Robbie and Mark who spoilt the group with a lovely lunch and gin tasting.  The venue was undergoing a lot of upgrades so we dined outdoors beneath the gazebos and large trees at the side of the distillery.

After enjoying a lovely afternoon with the crew sipping gin, we retired to our Motel across the road until the next event - the dinner at Courabrya Wines.  This venue never ceases to disappoint, with an amazing dinner and selection of wines.  We watched the sun set over the hills to the west as the vineyards glistened and then finally disappeared into the night darkness.

The next day, we hit Paddys River Waterfall after stopping to look at 'Frank the Painted Rock' along the way.  A few brave souls dived into the cool water and allowed the spray of the roaring waterfall mist over them as they enjoyed the dip in the rock pool below.

After drying off and warming up, the group then headed off to Obsession Wines where Adrian and his partner spoilt the group with a variety of wines from their amazing selection.  We watched as a grape truck arrived and they tipped it into their crushing machine.  The group then walked down the short driveway to Braymont Gardens and strolled around the lovely flowers and bushes that make up the gardens.  Our lunch was on the deck overlooking the Main Range and Kosciuszko mountain.

The weekend ended after lunch with the group breaking up and heading off to their respective homes.  A fantastic weekend with more to come to this wonderful and quaint part of Australia.  Please check out the photographs on the TOCA photos page.
