11th April 2025
By Les Posen

Hi from your TOCA Vic Committee, bringing you news of April events.

There’s lots happening so let’s bring it to you in Chronological order:

To register for these events, please use the Member Jungle app on your smartphone or via the TOCA website.

  1. This Sunday April 13 is our monthly Cars and Coffee meetup, hosted by your committee members Riz and Chris.
We’ll be meeting in Heatherton at Arco Bar, just off Warrigal Road, near Bunnings, commencing at 10am. If the weather remains warm, we’ll sit outside, so the venue is dog friendly.  From there, we’ll travel a short distance to nearby Oakleigh to visit the new Tesla Repair and Service Centre on Huntingdale Road. 2. During the Anzac weekend, we’ll be hosting an “Electronic Art” cruise to the Silo Art installations in central Victoria. We start with breakfast in Sunbury a the Spotted Own Cafe on O’Shannassy Street, then head west, before passing through the delightful township of Macedon. We then head northwards towards Hanging Rock (but not stopping for a picnic) then driving via the township Romsey to make our first stop at the Farmers Market in Lancefield. Our next stop is in Heathcote (at Gaffney’s bakery), then we’re off to the first silo art installation in Colbanibbin.

After a short stay, we then move on to the second silo installation in Rochester, we’re we’ll stay for lunch at the Shamrock Hotel. Please register before April 24 as we have to book dining venues and give them numbers. This cruise is family and dog friendly, and options for vegetarians and vegans are available. Total distance is about 185kms, and there are some chargers on our route.

  3. Likely some time after the April 26 (or possibly even before) Tesla will be hosting us for an exclusive evening with the new Model Y 2025. You’ll be able to get up close and personal with the models on display and we’ll cater this evening event which will be exclusive to TOCA members. The announcement of the actual date and time is imminent so please keep an eye on your Member Jungle app to register ASAP.

  4. On May 25, we’ll be visiting Lang Lang testing grounds for an all day event. No special equipment is needed but there are some stipulations to be mindful of, so please read the description of the event on Member Jungle before you register. The new fee has been reduced to $245 per car which includes lunch and coffee. Please register early via the Member Jungle app so we can confirm numbers with the Lang Lang management, who will also be inviting some ICE cars to join the day, so it will be an interesting event. Hopefully, some in TOCA will have received their Launch Model Ys by then and will be eager to give them a run at Lang Lang!
