ACT - Lunch in Pompei - at the Australian National Museum - Canberra

ACT TOCA met up in the ruins of Pompei on Saturday 12 April 2025. We witnessed the eruption of Mt Vesuvius and saw the amazingly preserved items found amongst the hardened pyroclastic flows that engulfed the ancient city along with some of its unfortunate residents. Casts of a family huddled together with their baby and pet dog was on display and brought to life the sorrow this event caused these ancient people. The TOCA crew enjoyed a lovely lunch together in the cafe. A lovely morning.
