TOCA ACT Sunday Drive most enjoyable
11th November 2025
By Steve Ryan
A small but enthusiastic group of members met at the Two Before Ten Cafe in Murrumbateman on Sunday 9 November and enjoyed coffees and the Cafe's home baked biscuits. From Murrumbateman we drove to Goulburn via Gunning and Breadalbane and stopped to admire the Hume and Hovell memorial erected in 1924 near Gunning to commemorate the start of their epic trip across NSW from the memorial site in 1824.
From the memorial we drove to Goulburn for a delightful lunch at The Roses Cafe near the Catholic Cathedral and then drove up to the Rocky Hill Memorial and Museum where our more active members made the steep climb up to the memorial tower. Then it was back in the Teslas for the exploratory drive to the new Tesla Super Chargers ( 20 chargers over three lines) located behind the Big Merino. A great place for a final chat as we awaited the quick charging of our vehicles and we were soon on our way back to Canberra. Just over four hours really enjoyed and now we wait for the next Sunday drive, possbily in February 2026!
