TOCA members proudly supported the Hunter EV Show including providing "Magical Test Rides"!

This year the Hunter EV Show, which was organised by the University of Newcastle as part of the Hunter EV Festival, was held at the Newcastle Jockey Club on 21st and 22nd of September.

The show formed part of the 2018 Greater Hunter Makers & Technology Festival which attracted thousands of visitors from schools, businesses and the public.

TOCA members generously donated their time to bring a total of eight Teslas to the festival over the two days.  In addition to static displays and answering lots of questions the model X put on a few dancing displays and drew quite a crowd!

The TOCA team kindly gave test rides in their cars around the local area, which attracted quite a queue and "Can I get a test ride?" became the third most popular question after "How far can you go on one charge?" and "How long does it take to charge?".  It is estimated that over 300 visitors would have experienced a test ride over the two days.

On Saturday, our TOCA Secretary also participated in a discussion panel on electric vehicles comprising representatives from Hyundai Australia (who had an EV and Hydrogen Kona on display), the University of Newcastle and Beyond Zero emmissions group.

TOCA member Kurtis McConkey deserves special recognition for his efforts to coordinate our attendance with Professor Tim Roberts and the UoN team (Latha and Alec) and AI Group (Cherilynn).

A big vote of thanks also to the other TOCA Members who gave up their days (and cars) to answer questions and put on a great show - Wes Raddysh, Greg Winston, Ben Crockett, Rohan Anderson, Mark and Olga Edwards, Michael Barwell and Brett Bidwell.
