ACT TOCA ventured up into the snow capped mountains on 18 June 2023 to be rewarded with some schnapps and a fine lunch at the Wild Brumby Distillery near Crackenback.

ACT TOCA ventured up into the snow capped NSW Alps on Sunday 18 June 2023 to enjoy some lunchtime drinks and meal.

Our journey started with the northside Tesla crew departing Piallago Superchargers and meeting up with the southside members just south of Canberra on the Monaro Highway.

Four cars - 33XS (nearly INXS) travelled up the Monaro Highway to Cooma where a short 30 minute coffee warmed the stomachs of our intrepid travellers.  Overcast and cold, we continued up the Kosciusko Highway to the Wild Brumby Distillery on the Thredbo Road near Crackenback.  Snow scattered the mountains, and while we got a slight mist of rain just outside of Jindabyne, it remained rain-free.

Our group of seven was welcomed by a warm fireplace in a lovely Snowy Mountain restaurant.  On the walls were memorabilia of the Snowy Mountains history, from old photos to wooden skis with the steel bindings.  Wow!

Cheese and crackers for starters, some experienced the three shot schnapps, others had the martinis on offer, while the rest enjoyed Hot Chocolates with marshmallows (Oh stop it!!!) and steaming coffee (hellllpppp).  Nothing better when it is freezing outside!

Our drive back saw more highway patrol police cars than Teslas, clearly preparing for the returning ski traffic to Sydney.  Between Jindabyne and Cooma, we counted six cars (I think start of shift as three were in a row) and two between Cooma and Canberra.  Nothing once we hit the ACT Border ... thanks AFP!!

A great drive, lovely company, and an enjoyable event.
